Try Royal Canin Medium puppy. The bag tells you exactly how much to feed them.

Try feeding them any premium dog food , I recommend a mini chunk or small kibble formula as bulldogs tend not to chew especially at that age.  How I measured food intake was to keep an eye on their poop too much food it will be running, and they will have huge tummies, and to little food my bulldogs had very hard poops.  You can play with the intake per pup, as all dogs are different.

My memphis wouldn't eat Royal Canine when he was a pup, so I had to feed alternatives.  But since he turned one I swear by the bulldog 24.  It stopped tear stains, plus he has to chew bulldog 24 and has limited the gas (which is inevitable with bulldogs breathing).

Have fun with your pups.

Hi there! Congrats on your bullies, they are amazing dogs. I have 2 males, one is 4 the other is 2. I agree w/ what the other posts said. Feed the royal canin med breed using the amts from the bag. Also, what really helped me is reading about the breed. Pick up any new owners guide to bulldogs book from a book store or pet shop. It talks about everything you need to know about ur bulldogs. They are great dogs....you'll have a lot of fun w/ them.

Definitely keep up on their hygene by wiping their face folds w/ baby wipes (non-alcohol) daily. Also, be sure to clean their ears once a week too. I use a paper towel spiraled into a thick tip, so you can dig w/o hurting the ear drum.

Good Luck

Rob

I have had bulldogs in the past so I can help.  Puppies, up to the age of six months should be fed four times a day.  From then twice a day.  Royal Canin in excellent food , one of the best out there.   Bulldogs are very susceptible to heat and cold so do not ever leave them outside.  They are not an outdoor dog.  Another thing, they are not a high energy dog so do not take them for long walks, you may end up carrying them back. They love to chew so give them plenty of chew toys.

I have raised Bulldogs for years and tried everything!  I love Royal Canin for adult dogs, but I use Bil Jac Puppy and HIGHLY reccomend it.  It is small, easy to digest and if you read up on the home page you will see all the care taken to proccess the nutrients correctly.  My 6 year old white bulldog has done phenominal on it.  She has no more itching or chewing on her paws.  She acts like a puppy again.  It also breaks down very easily and my dogs go crazy for it!  The stool are smaller and firmer also.  It especially helps with gas.  Good Luck!!  karenblock4u@aol.com  email me any time!!

Re: just got 2 english bulldogs...help

I just got a female when she was nearly 11 weeks old and now she is 17 or so weeks old. this is my forst experience with a bully but my husband has had one adult female in the past.  I'm starting to learn Maddies' quirks and behaviors... and boy they are a differnet bread for sure.  Potty training tip  for you that is working for us (not always but yes alot of the times) is we places a bell on the door handle and each and every time we got out we take her paw and have her hit the bell...she now will run to the door and hit it with either her paw or her nose to let us know she has to go out. and praise them when they are outside and say good girl/good boy cause after hearing that so many times they know the praise and will do it .  we also do treats too . Trainers say it takes 6 weeks for any dog to learn a new trick so be patient!!!!!!! especialy with "No" "Sit" 'Stay" , etc.  6 weeks!!!!! Ahhh. also,  i've learned they love to eat Snow!!!!!!!!!   we had a total of 20 inches of snow in 2 weeks and man Maddie couldnt wait to go out to play and eat snow.  Also, DO NOT run to them when they bark cause they will bark to just get you to come running. we always wait til the barking stops then go. Its worked for us beautifully!!!!!! She doesnt even bark when she has to be put in her kennel and its been that way since day one.  We feed maddie two times a day. Once in the morning and one in the evening a total of 3 cups per day.  We do not give her treats in the evening because she has more accidents it seems in her cage.  Maddie is doing something oddly to us she is actually peeing in her cage wear she sleeps. Most dogs will not do it where they lay but for soe reason she is doing that.  I notice too she and all bullys teething seems to go on alot longer than other breads. She is wil eve chomp at the air.  i have been buying her toys that are alot thicker and bigger like kids stuff animals so she tries to put her whole mouth on it and chomps at it especially when its a bad day of teething for her.  Bullys also will force feed themself so I also now recoomend when feeding is to make them sit before eating or thye jump like crazy in the air like they have springs on their feet! LOl and I take the food away mid way so they can digest it easier.  Then after a few min. I place it back down. I notice if you dont they eat so fast that they will just throw it up in just a few min.  -No Fun!!!!!  Maddie loves pet beds! and the one we have been buying is one that has like a bAck to it and she buries stuff in it.  My poor cat and her have yet to make up. He is wondering when we are taking back the dog!!!Lol My bully loves to place all her weight on top of the cat mind you weighs only 8 pounds himself. One day they will make up.  Maddie loves anything that has a tail!  So be careful with that one and it appears bullys dont know a stranger! they will go to anyone and I hear that is why the breed is so easy to steal from your yard...another FYI tip so watch tem when outside.  another tip is they love the stores that you can take them in such as Petco, Petland, Petsmart and they usually will flock to your dog. Bullys are cute and attract attention.  If they dont receive attention they pout!!!!!!   Another tip I have is that is if potty in the house they are sneaky when doing it and usually when they are about to do it they circle areas before it hapening but if you have to punish them they will fight you and even you spank them they arent upset your punsihing them but more so their feelings get hurt and they want forgiveness.  Our maddie is a kisser!!!!!!! and again stranger of anymore kisses a many she will give. I hope yours are that loving too. Car rides are great but they love to be the driver than the passenger if you do take for rides start that early and make sure you teach them first off to sit in their seat if not they will always be the driver!!!!! Leash training seems to come somewhat natural for them too.   Hope that helps!!! Melissa
