Every day dog breeders give us their very real evaluation of our foods: they help us with an independent assessment of new foods for dogs and provide us with vital knowledge about pregnant females, growing puppies and senior dogs. These observations are the basis of our innovations.
To develop a food for a specific breed, it is essential to observe the breed closely and understand its morphological, physiological and behavioral characteristics. For the Boxer formula, we filmed the dogs from beneath a sheet of glass while they ate different shaped kibbles. The objective was to make it easier for this brachycephalic dog, which has a tendency to scatter its kibbles around, to pick up its food and to limit the amount of air taken in while eating. We were able to monitor the activity levels of this breed which is always on the go and therefore provide the nutrients needed for such a high energy expenditure. Finally we selected the most digestible sources of protein to reduce bacterial fermentation in the colon which is responsible for inflammation and bad smells.
Our passion for innovation is to see what breeders have seen and to deduce what no one else has thought of.
